Dr. Syeda Tabassum Alam passed MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka in January, 1987 and passed Diploma in child Health in July, 1991 from IPGMER. She has been completed fellowship in Paediatrics (FCPS) on January 2006. She also completed Doctor of Medicine in Paediatric Neurology & Neuro-Development (MD-Paediatric Neurology) from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. She completed Fellowship in Autism from South Korea.
After qualified BCS (Health) Examination, in 1990 She joined as an Assistant Surgeon in Government Service and worked in different District Government Hospitals.
Later she joined as Medical Officer in Department of Paediatrics in BSMMU (Ex – IPGMER) on 1994 and worked as Research Medical Officer and consultant in Paediatrics Department of BMU. She was promoted to Assistant Professor of Paediatrics on 2006 and worked for 7 years upto 2013. Then she was promoted to Associate Professor on January 2013 and also she has been promoted to Professor while working in Department of Paediatric Neurology & Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder & Autism (IPNA), BMU, Dhaka, Bangladesh till to date.
She has been promoted to Director in Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder & Autism (IPNA) on 2024 and has working till to date.
She has more than 60 articles in national and international journals & has been actively involved in research, teaching & other academic activities of BMU. She participated many international neurology conferences in Bhutan, South Korea and India etc.
